Apostille for Company Registration Abroad

Registering a company or branch in another country usually requires Swedish corporate documents to be apostilled before the foreign company registry will accept them. The most common documents are the Bolagsverket registration extract, articles of association, shareholder resolutions, certificates of good standing, and powers of attorney appointing a local representative. Foreign authorities need confirmation that the documents are authentic and that the people signing have authority to do so. For Hague Convention countries the apostille is the recognised form of authentication; for non-Hague countries, full legalisation through the embassy is required instead. Most corporate documents must first be notarised as certified copies by a Swedish Notary Public.
