Apostille for Studying Abroad

If you are applying to study at a university or college outside Sweden, the admissions office will often require apostilled copies of your diplomas, transcripts and grade reports. This is the standard way for foreign institutions to verify that your Swedish academic credentials are authentic. Birth certificates and identity documents are also commonly requested as part of a study visa or residency application. For countries that are members of the Hague Convention, an apostille is enough — no embassy legalisation is required. Each document must usually be notarised as a certified copy by a Swedish Notary Public before the apostille is added.
